Oh I know and one of my biggest peeves that I have when I teach a basic DSLR class through our computer club.
I always bring in my 35mm Nikon FM that has a simple light meter. I show them a Sekonic L86 super duper light meter and tell them this IS what I learned on although the original 35 mm was a Topcon Uni that was a leaf shutter SLR with limited choices of lenses.
I hate it when something simple that has to be changed on a DSLR is sometimes buried in a Menu and not either a button or simple menu on the back that you can be navigated quickly. Only a few DSLR have features like that but all should have it.
I put a split image screen in my Oly E1 and had them in my 35 mm and 6x6 cameras and you can focus in low light cause you are wide open.
I equate new digital cameras and computers as dumber than a bunch of rocks as it has no idea what to do.
Yes a distance and depth of field gauge on a lens barrel I sorely miss not the depth of field preview as it gets dark. I really think the camera manufactures really dumbed down the camera and that bad for the consumer who never knew and an f-stop from a stop sign.

The wife hates my car as it has manual roll up windows, standard shift and the only air is roll the windows down and go fast!!!
