As said in other posts, it depends on how you use your lenses,
How wide you you want the landscape to be?
can you realsitically get it all in with one shot,
will you have to create a panorama.
any lens can be used for a landscape, you just have to change your technique.
This was taken in the lake district, on a D100 with a 35mm lens, Its multiple shots combined,
The original is 9287 x 1575. Link to original and over 400M, i've just saved it as a very low quality jpg on flickr, it was twice as wide as this, but the end bits were not interesting.
