Shallow vs deep DOF situations with kids
In reply to John_A_G, 4 months ago

Thank you for highlighting that very useful comparison of two situations.

For the moment, solo or sibling moments at home is the primary application I'm addressing. Makes sense. Using a fast prime would help compensate for low light but would also make DOF more shallow and hard to get two siblings in focus. It sounds like stopping down the aperture is the way to go for siblings moments. Will also try to improve ambient lighting and use flash if necessary but of course still want to make sure I get the camera body that performs the best in low light, especially knowing I'll be stopping down the aperture.

As the kids get into sports and gym type activities, I will want my same camera to handle that too.
