You guys are failing to account for the fact that the samples from the 6 are more-likely-than-not from the SEL1650, which everyone knows is a more-compromised lens, being a pancake and quite full of barrel distortion that is corrected electronically. As a recent thread referring to a Roger Cicala blog entry made clear, both in-camera and PP distortion correction often comes at the cost of resolution.

I would be willing to bet that with the same lens, there would be no detectable difference in image quality.

good point

Anyone know if the NEX 6 samples in IR Comparometer are using the 16-50mm lens?

I have tested both N and R with the same lens , and obtain same results as "comparometer" ....

If the 5R as the same sensor than the 6 , we could obtain the same results i had........

Your finding basically answer the title of this thread

the answer is NO

at least in therm of high ISO IQ, 5R/6 is worse than 5N. High ISO is very important to me as I like to take night pictures

sad NEX going backwards. Well that't life

You have lo learn to read, i write the same thing of you sir.I obtain same results as "comparometer".

Go to comparometer and the High Iso of the 5N is better than 6......

Take some time to read.......

My apologize sir!

I have some difficulty with English because i'm French canadian!

You could read  same results "than" comparometer.

Excuse my bad English!
