Or would I find myself frustrated at the lack of zoom and flexibility that would be found in the 12-50mm?

Would a lens like the 45mm be manageable for someone like me looking for the sweet spot between sharpness and lots of bokeh?

Would it be absolutely wacko for me to buy the OM-5 body and only one prime lens?

If it turns out you don't like the 45mm, you could resell it at no loss (since you saved 150 on it).

Also are you absolutely set on the E-M5? Or are you just getting it because of the lens rebate? Don't fall for the sneaky upsell!

Edit: Don't forget the cheap 15mm/8 cap lens. 30 + 90 EFL might just be a good combo.

If you are only getting the 45mm I would definitely spring an extra $50 for the 15mm f/8.  From what Ive seen it is great in the center and would at least give you something wider during the day especially considering you seem to be into street photography.
