I am at present thinking about whether to upgrade my pc and monitor or change to apple Mac.
I am aware Mac is better for photographers but I have to consider the prices.
I have a number of programs that I bought for the pc inc CS6 for a lot of money.
If I bought a Mac would I have to buy CS6 again?

I have both Mac and Windows computers and run Photoshop on both. They work equally well with Mac and Windows, although I prefer Windows because I am more familiar with it and the monitor on my Windows computer is better than the one I use with the Mac. I believe for Photoshop CS6 you get either a Mac or Windows version. I have the Mac version and it runs fine. If you already have the Windows version of CS6, you can run it on a Mac if you use the Windows operating system with either BootCamp or in virtual software like Parallels.
Other than safety from viruses, I have found no advantages to using Mac instead of Windows.
