Spot on, Ron. I've been doing some research on that very subject (re-sampling downward), using DPR's test images and slant-edge testing them with QuickMTF. I am finding that, irrespective of the camera, acutance is significantly improved with proper downsizing. Some folks will take exception to your "more detailed" but perhaps you mean more contrast.

I'm also finding that re-sampling downward gives slightly "better" images than the same subject shot with a lower resolution camera.
