Doing a little googling, it looks like the Digital Camera Battery (DCB) was a 6 volt device. The maker sold an adapter cable that fed the high voltage port on Nikon flashes. It was called a DCBKE, and I found one on EBay for $99. It has a step-up transformer as well as the Nikon 3 prong connector.

Many thanks Duncan for your time and effort. I will check it out. I can't recall the original price for the cord but that could be an option. I'm still a tad reluctant to spend that much with such an old battery with who knows how much life is left. If it were $40 then I might be tempted. Throwing near a hundred at this may not be prudent. I could just sell it along with the Canon flash.I don't have the care, skill or patience to do any modifications other than to find an affordable cord.

On another concern that you might know the answer. If I were to buy a wein slave adapter to fit on the shoe of the Canon speedlight and use it in manual meaning set the power to what ever level, do you know if the duration between my Nikon SB900 TTL pre-flash and output flash would be close enough to pop that wein slaved speedlite at a compatible time to be included in the exposure?

B&H states that the slave will not support TTL systems with pre-flash.

I figure even if I have my Nikon flashes set to remote TTL firing among them that if the pre-flash does get seen by the Canon flash via that slave wouldn't it be during the exposure? And even if the slave doesn't sense the pre-flash then my Nikon larger bursts of light would set it off anyway. I wouldn't be expecting anything auto with that slaved Canon flash for as I said it would be set to manual.

Any thoughts?

Thanks
