One thing you cannot do, is compare the results you see captured with this lens to macro shots someone has captured with a Raynox attachment bolted on a Panasonic FZ digicam. The depth of field with the FZ is relatively endless compared to what you will get with the 60mm Zuiko or any other macro lens on a larger sensored camera, even stopped down to f8 or f11. It takes more work to do macro well with larger format cameras and macro lenses.

I have the lens and love it, but I'm also not a dedicated macro-only shooter. Some samples I have seen look pretty darn good.

I'm not sure that I agree with your first statement Greg, I think I'm allowed to compare results from differing formats if for no other reason to see if my current gear is giving me value for money.

If it's value your looking for, I think you already have a Raynox closeup lens, so the Panasonic FZ200 at around $100 more than the 60mm macro by itself could very well be what you need.

Also comparison doesn't come down all against the 60mm. The detailis are going to be better on the larger sensor, it's just that I don't take shots just for the detail and it's in the whole photo stakes that I feel that the 60mm is a let down.

Any letdown in this sense is going to be the photographers fault, not the lens. It's as sharp as any four-thirds lens I have owned.
