Small sensor, poor dynamic range. You need the 14 stops dr in the nikon D800 and some sony sensors. Pinhead sensors can't handle the brutal pp required to salvage the shot.
Auto exposure bracketing and pp can produce a usable shot but it ain't gonna win a DPR challenge anytime soon.
