I agree with you here about the capture sharpening process.  And above I totally agree with you about output sharpening.  I'm a firm believer in a 3 stage sharpening process; capture, creative, and output.

I would have to wonder if anyone says that D800E images don't need output sharpening if they haven't already over sharpened during the capture process.
