Is post production sharpening necessary with D800E?

Kaj, did you read through the thread so far? I've already posted the raw in Dropbox.

On the Flickr sample, I used the exact settings recommended by two well-respected CNX2 gurus who have tried and failed imo to come up with acceptable levels of artifacting vs detail, at least on the zoom in.  At zero percent zoom, it may or not look good, but that's not how I roll.  I prefer never to etch the fine detail and let the chips fall where they may.  Couldn't get away with it on a lesser camera, but the "e" has the goods.

My CNX2 take (included) is pretty much everything having to do with sharpening almost or completely off, and it still was buttugly for my scapes. Best of luck.
