As some might have read in a previous thread, my Sigma 17-70 os broke down while on vacation. It started to make a rattling sound during zooming and focusing.  The erratic jumping in the viewfinder indicated to me that a faulty os system was to blame.  Whenever something goes wrong with a product, camera-related or otherwise, I always experience some doubt as to how the company will handle the repair.  On two occasions, Nikon claimed impact damage with broken point and shoot cameras.  They eventually repaired them at no cost to me.  On one occasion, Tamron cleaned and adjusted a nearly six year old lens under warranty.  So, I was curious to see how Sigma would do.

Well, 12 days after sending my lens to Sigma, my UPS delivery guy showed up at my door with a box awaiting my signature.  Sigma 17-70 os back from New York fully operational with a new os unit repaired under warranty.  I kind of want to know how much this might have cost since my warranty does expire in another year.  But, for now, Sigma gets an A.  I guess since it was repaired under warranty, they never even emailed me acknowledging the receipt of the lens or the repair.

If anyone has another positive repair story, I would like to hear about it (no horror stories, please).
