What advantage would the DP1 Merrill give me over the Nex-7 for Landscape shots? I am really wanting a dedicated Landscape Camera for a trip coming up...

Mr Ichiro Kitao, I support the call to upgrade the FZ50.
I will not only buy one but two no questions asked...
I've been looking at the other replies and think this is really a question of camera and sensor isn't it, as you can get both the Sigma lenses on the DP1M and DP2M in Sony NEX fit at really reasonable prices (around £100 each in UK).
I was going down the same decision process before Christmas and ended up getting the DP2M and so far am very pleased with it, though weather has been so poor here I haven't had the chance to do any serious landscapes.
The NEX7 has the advantage of a decent electronic viewfinder though, whereas the DP Merril has no viewfinder (except the add on optical one which I didn't keep and wouldn't be much use for landscape). I will use the LCD and a Hoodman loupe with the DP2M.
For landscape the Sigma should produce better images I think.
As I've said mine is the DP2M, so I don't know about the DP1M but comments refer to slight softness in the corners. I'm unclear whether this is just wide open or whether the softness still exists stopped down. There are also comments around about some chromatic aberration that is fairly easy to get rid of in Lightroom. I think this is common with wide angle lenses.
A plus for the DP Merrill cameras is a simple and easy menu and interface, the NEX is more complicated I believe.
A minus for the DP Merrill is the need to use the Sigma Raw software first to convert to Tiff and tranfer to Lightroom or whatever. It's an extra step but I haven't found this a deal breaker.
Finally the DP Merrils don't take a remote shutter release so for landscape you need to use the two (or ten) second timer. There isn't a mirror so vibration should be mush less than with a DSLR. I don't know whether the NEX takes a remote shutter release.
With ND Grad filters, polarisers etc., both cameras should be the same.
