Considering getting this filter for the CZ2470 /70400G and was wondering if anybody could comment on experience with this filter?

Pics would also be very welcome

I've got the VF62NDAM which I use occasionally on my zeiss 1680. All the Sony Zeiss filters are of excellent quality in my experience, well made, with few artefacts and come in nice little round cases with a big blue Z on them :-). A little pricey (but quality filters tend to be) and can be a little hard to get hold of here in the UK but not impossible (Park Cameras do them, so do Amazon, a guy on ebay who specialises in Sony Minolta accessories - minoltamania).

In terms of the ND filter itself, its pretty good with just a very slight uniform colourshift that is easily correctable without causing any other image quality issues. My main problem is I don't find that in many situations the ND8 is not dark enough to do what I want to do and have subsequently bought a 77mm ND500 from Lightcraft Worskhop which makes it much easier to get that nice milky effect on water etc - your shooting style may vary though so if you know you just need the ND8 the Sony Zeiss one is a good one to get. Here are some before and after photos from a few far from scientific test shots I did soon after purchasing the filter...

Before

After

There are a few more test shots of this filter and the zeiss CPL plus some cheap ND grad Cokin style filters on my gallery page here..
