I think it unlikely that they will implement focus peaking, as they previously stated that things like the EVF refresh rate were limited by the XTrans sensor data rendering, hinting that the processor wasn't fast enough. The move to a faster processor in the X100s no doubt helped them implement focus peaking.

It may also be that the firmware cannot be modified that extensively. I am sure that if it was easy to implement much requested things like Auto ISO minimum shutter speed, then they would have done it by now. I don't think it is arrogance that is holding them back.

I also wish they would fix the problem with the camera having problems with invisible files written to the SD card by Apple computers. That has been fixed in the X100s, but whether they can retro fix it in other X series cameras remains to be seen.
