Yep.  There is a reason why Silkypix has been roundly and completely rejected by most, especially amongst professionals.  You carefully noted many of the reasons why above.

The first thing I do when getting a new X camera (and I have 3), is to toss the Silkypix disk into the trash.

A truly awful piece of software.
