I see so because "they" make A LOT of money, it is OK to engage in abusive policies of let's try and if I don't like it I will return it because I am just a poor jerk that is entitled to abuse anyone or any company making more money than me because it is my God given right to do so.

I generally agree that we shouldn't abuse a policy, but the policy does exist. If a person buys a camera that just doesn't work out then the return policy for many of these shops allows the item to be returned without any questions even asked. I suppose if the policy was being abused by too many people then we'd see the prices reflect this abuse or we would see a change in policy (e.g., 5% restocking fee, 14-days).

I also think prices of cameras tend to be priced higher when they are released and come down in price over time. The initial demand where buyers are paying more is also when there will be more buyers who are buying on potential because there are fewer reviews. When the potential doesn't live up to the expectations then there will be more returns. Many people will likely get a pretty good deal on refurbished units.
