Think Tanks's Retrospective 5 is a popular recommendation. I recently found out why myself, and now have two sized Retrospectives (one for a two body kit, one for an ultralight kit). I really wanted something like a Billingham, but they're just too weighty on their own for my needs.

With the Retrospective 5 I've stopped and momentarily thought I've left my bag somewhere behind, while it was still slung across my torso.

I also like the LowePro Inverse 200 when I'm not using the shoulder bag, though the Inverse 100 waist pack is probably more practical for the minimal kit.

Bob, the Billingham Hadley Pro is the equivalent weight of the Retro 5. The Billingham L2 "Alice" weighs less, at 1.54 lbs.

Both are completely waterproof without a crumpled and stashed rain fly that takes up space in the Think Tanks. The Think Tank and other manufacturer's rain flys are those that one will usually mull over whether it's worth deploying or not; while the Billingham, with care free, goes from individual drops to a driving, windswept rain without requiring the photographer's thought or intervention. Both Billy models are good for Micro 4/3 gear. I use the Hadley Pro, something I bought for a trip to San Francisco. It didn't rain.
