is your RX-100 made in Japan or China?

Perhaps the issue is not so much the Made in China thing but rather the fact that products which are made in Japan are seen to be more reliable, better made, etc, than goods made elsewhere in Asia.

Case in point. Seiko make a line of divers watches. The basic mechanical stainless steel model is designated.SK007 and has been in production for many years in two variants.

An SK007J is made in Japan. The SK007K is made elsewhere in Asia. Apart from the 'Made in Japan" marking, these watches are identical but the 'J' version will cost you at least $50 more than the 'K' version.
