FWIW, you can press the button on a 603 that is connected to a remote flash and still make the camera/flash group fire. If you have the connection/sync cable that goes between the 603 and your particular camera, you can test it with just the two 603s you have.
Just hold the remote flash in your hand and press the button on the flash mounted 603. The camera should fire and sync with the flash in your hand.

I tried the setup with two 603s I have and it worked. I imagine it will work when I add two more 603s. My question is that is it possible to trigger flash without letting camera take a picture every time when I take a meter reading? Thanks.
