About a month ago, I bought an OMD, then returned a few days later. It didn't feel right to me... confusing menus, noisy IS system, and small viewfinder. I then bought a G5 and I am as happy as a clam. I love it! The viewfinder, especially, is terrific. And the image quality is great.

The OMD is without a doubt a great camera, but for me the G5 works and feels better.

Happy to hear that you are happy with your G5.

Personally I love the viewfinder of the E-M5 (much better than the larger viewfinder in my G1, in part thanks to the lower level of magnification which makes it easier to overview without loss of resolution).

The noise (more like a whisper) produced by the IBIS never bothered me and bothers me even less now that (since FW 1.5) you hear it only if you half-press the shutter and have IBIS set to stabilize live view.

Finally, I find nothing confusing about the menus. There are many menu sections but that's a good in view of the fact that there are so many menu settings. The many menu settings, in turn, simply means that the camera is highly customizable, which is something I much appreciate. The G5 is a less advanced camera and therefore probably has a simpler menu system with fewer sections.

Was there anything apart from the many sections and the many settings that you found confusing about the E-M5 menu system? If so what?
