Back in the early 1990’s a staff member of Modern Photo Mag (now gone) was visiting relatives in France, they gave him an old camera. When he got back to the US he removed the roll of film in it and had it processed, surprise, the B&W negatives held images of troops in the trenches in WWI. They printed 2 of them in the magazine; they were good prints, taken 75 years earlier! The biggest surprise wasn't that the film held the latent images for 75 years, but that no one had opened the back of that camera in 75 years!
