Less than $99, incl. mSDHC, much more functions.

I've got my H4n for that, and will use it when I have to. Life is too short for syncing up in post and managing tons of disconnected files without associative metadata. So this new integrated option will be a welcomed alternative on many occasions. And BTW, the audio quality of the H1 might even be worse.

Exactly. I even mentioned I have an H1 as well before but I like having more options that are all in one when I dont feel like messing with syncing or carrying more stuff.
Is about options and I love we finally get one affordable.

While I definitely agree that's a welcome addition to the NEX accessory lineup I think I'll stay with the H1 and manual syncing. The reason being, where audio matters to me most is when I shoot live gigs - and in these situations I really appreciate uncompressed wav. That's because I always do some audio pp (mainly eq) and I don't want to deal with lossy audio there. If I recall correctly, audio in NEX's mp4 (and I prefer mp4 to avchd because it's easier to edit) is something like 128kbps.

Having said that, I'm sure the majority of NEX video shooters will find the new mic very useful. Manual syncing is not on option when dealing with dozens of clips. Just wanted to bring another (marginal case) angle to the discussion.
