Does using the LA-EA2 adapter offer faster focusing on the NEX-6 than not using it? I've seen discussions prior to the NEX-6 coming and they were really just assumptions.
I'm looking for faster focusing for sports and a 6yr old that doesn't usually sit still!
Though I would say LA-EA2 feels faster focusing in most situations I'm not very happy with it. There are certain subjects (like a relatively smooth wall) when the PDAF starts hunting and sometimes gives up, while the CDAF gets focus easily. I also noticed that CDAF is generally more precise. If CDAF acquires focus, it's dead-on to the last pixel. PDAF feels like having more focus play. Even in good light some surfaces throw PDAF off. Where PDAF shines is focusing on moving objects, but in other situations I prefer CDAF or manual focusing.
did you apply AF-microadjustment on the LA-EA2 ?
