Today we'all (collies, me & Colleen the ladywife) walked to The Stork Inn for our tiffin, about 7 miles all told, up & down the canal towpath that runs to Glasson Dock.  The light was good through the cold, clear atmosphere so Colleen practiced with her FZ200.  Here is a small selection of her captures.

Frost-rimed towpath & fells

Conder Green Farm, rising tide in the estuary

Mr & Mrs Swan of Thurnham Mill

Mr Swan's fine feather flounce

Myself I like the reflected Conder Green Farm a lot; but the detail she has retained in the swan feathers indicates she has got aholden of the FZ200 exposure controls.  Those swans like to blow one's highlights! In the full size version, every feather striation is revealed; the things look 3D on the screen.

Soon they will have a gaggle of cygnets and be doing double-volume hiss at inquisitive wee collie-dogs. Winter has it's charms but Spring has more.

All RAWs via Silkypix 5Pro.

SirLataxe, digesting cakes & ale.
