In the 90s, I worked for Fuji USA and was selling many of the cameras mentioned here. In fact, I started with them in '75 so I sold about every camera Fuji ever marketed here in the US, starting with the ST701 SLR and the GE and GER rangefinders. Their medium format cameras in the 80s and 90s sold quite well for the niche cameras they were. Even the GX680 with total lens shift controls proved to sell better than we had imagined at the price we sold it for.

Fuji did sell DSLRs in the 90s, only not the "S" series cameras. We did a joint venture with Nikon and produced the same cameras sold both under the Fuji name and Nikon name but having different model numbers for each company. The Fuji version was DS505/515. $25K SLP for a 1.3MB SLR that required you wear a truss to safely transport. Actually produced nice images for its time and while the price was high, many photographers made lots of money with those cameras.
