If you used your memory card from your 5n, it probably picked up the image number from it.

I am not sure, but does Sony put the shutter count in the EXIF? If so, could determine shutter activations that way. I would expect a new camera to have only 100 or 200 for factory test.

Unfortunately Sony camera do not record the counter in EXIF. Battery inserted shows that at least somebody opened the box and tested that camera in store.Or the camera was a store demo (missing tags however point more to somebody testing it at home, the store most likely will not remove the tags, and anyway a store demo can be also quite "abused".
