Nikon D300 replacement

I think neither the D300 nor the D700 has found a replacement in the current line-up of Nikon DSLRs. So what will come to fill that gap is everyone´s guess.
I would prefert a DX solution, but in the end anything with 6+FPS, 51 point AF, D300/700 stlye body for less than 2800$ would be fine with me.
