Help with Nikon Coolscan V ED

Thanks DrJ.  I hard tried several "re-boot" routines but couldn't be sure I had followed the steps exactly as you suggested so just tried that new. Didn't help sadly. I don't know whether it is significant, but when powered up without the adapter or film in place I didn't get the error light, just the usual steady green light.

Time to see what the service center make of it ...
