Capturing the Northern Lights with a D5100
Jan 15, 2013

Hey Everyone,

So I'm headed to the North Slope in Alaska next week.  I'll be up there for about an month, so if I'm lucky, I should be able to photography the northern lights. I'll be bringing most of my equipment including my 5100, a heavy tripod and a Tokina 11-16.  Does anyone have any experience capturing an aurora with a 5100?  If so, I'd love to get some tips on the exposure settings that worked well.
