The MFT version definitely does exist (an Olympus E-PL3 is pictured in page 11 of their white paper).

As for people behind it - Brian Caldwell was the designer of the Coastal Optics 60/4, the most perfectly apochromatic lens to date (it's apochromatic from UV throught to IR which of course includes the entire visible spectrum) - that's about as credible as you can get.

Can't wait to try my 35mm lenses on this!
