I am new to Nikon (Canon user) and am curious if anyone else is having problems getting sharp shots from this combo? I have done micro adjustment (set to -8) at 70mm F2.8 and get solid images as long as the distance / focal length don't change. When using the lens at random focal lengths / Fstops I get mixed results. Many times I can take the same picture 3 or 4 times and one or two will be good and the rest not. I'm wondering if there is something wrong with the lens.

I also have a 50mm F1.8 prime that had to be set to -12 to achieve sharp images, but this lens always seems to perform well now.

Is it normal to have to adjust most of your lenses like this (I have not had to do this on any of my Canon L lenses yet with a 5D2 and 5D3)?

Appreciate any and all advice!

Thanks,

Jesse

I was having the same issue, but I did a lens calibration on it and it needed a micro adjustment of -17.  Now it's a good as it is on my D4.
