First, I hope your feeders are in full or filtered sun.  If they are in shade, your job will be more difficult.  Second, as Steen said, try the Tv mode, set to perhaps 1/500 sec.  Choose Auto ISO to start.  Begin with taking shots with the birds on the feeder.  As you get the feel of it, you can try some just arriving or leaving.  This is certainly not the camera's strong suit, but with enough practice and experimentation, you may be able to achieve acceptable results.  I'm not familiar with every point and shoot out there, but, for this purpose, you might be better off with an inexpensive DSLR and lens.
