Use AF-S single point focus. When you use AF-C, surrounding AF points have an impact to AF. You don't want to do that. Use a simple AF-S single point AF.

At larger apertures, and especially at f/1.4 slight lens decentring issues might come into play. You must try to eliminate all sources of AF inconsistencies and inaccuaracies if you want valid and conclusive results.
