LX5 sharpness question

Hello, I'm new to this forum. I am very impressed by some of the photos here. I bought a LX5 early in Dec. and have been trying to learn to use it.

I upgraded from an cheap 2006 Kodak C533 camera, because I never could get the color to suit me, sharpness was great. After reading the glowing reports about the LX5 I went with that one.

Last night I was reviewing some I'd taken with the Kodak and comparing them and the Kodak seems sharper with the same subject matter and lighting. I have till the 18th to decide whether to keep the LX5. All other things with the camera are great, I can't believe how good the color is and the build quality of the camera.

Gentlemen what am I missing? Granted I'm still getting to know this camera and was shooting at a low ISO.
