Thanks Brad. I'm afraid I wouldn't be able to budget for more L glass, I don't think. Love the idea, though. What about the 35mm f/2 IS (not cheap either)?

I have no experience with the new Canon 35 IS lens. But, a photographer that partners with me on photo projects used the older 35 f/2 non-IS lens exclusively for a couple years.

It's an excellent lens and you only lose a stop. Considering the low light capability on the 6D that's fine. Optically, it's not quite up to the 35 f/1.4, but it's $1,000 less in price and MUCH smaller and lighter. I'd have no qualms about using it.
