Workstation and LR 4 with solidstate drive?

Currently I use a laptop with LR4 and am thinking of getting a faster workstation, options I have is getting a solidstate drive and in addition larger disk drive for photo storage, will this enable Llightroom to work any faster with software on solidstate drive, but having to store photos on the disk drive
