Does anybody else think B&W photography is overused these days?

Just an observation. I've seen a few of photographers who think that shooting 'street' means shooting a shot on the street and then converting it to B&W - and that what makes it a street shot is the B&W look. Rubbish. Ultimately it has to be about the subject matter and what the image is saying, or some powerful aesthetic. Taking a banal colour shot of the street and then converting it to B&W to give it that gritty look - does not make it street.
