D7000 and 24-120 f/4

About a year ago, I had the subject combo which gave me some of the best images from my decade of shooting digital. Unfortunately, my D7000 required me to perform endless wet cleans for oil deposit problems. After getting fed up with the problem I acted emotionally and sold the entire kit. A few months ago I repurchased a D7000 and 16-85. I now plan on repurchasing the 24-120 f/4 as the full frame equivalent range of 36-180mm is almost ideal for my shooting style. I have posted this thread for info only. For one, the often stated view that 24mm full frame equivalent is necessary for most folks may not so often be true and secondly, think carefully before selling equipment (particularly a lens ).
