An affordable wedding kit......
Just putting a question out there for the seasoned pros.
I have at present the Nikon D5100 and D90 with the Nikon 35 1.8g, 50 1.8g, 18-105 kit lens, Sigma 50-150 2.8 HSMII and Tokina 11-16 2.8. I also have the Phottix Stratos triggers, an SB800, SB400 and SB28 with some light stands and umbrellas.
I have on the way the D600 kit with the 24-85 lens and the Nikon 70-200 f4 VR.
I am looking at this combo for a wedding photography kit for the time being: Nikon D600 with D5100 as second body. Nikon 70-200 f4, 50 1.8g, 35 1.8g and the 24-85 kit with the flashes of course. Do you think this can work as an interim kit for the time being until I can afford a better standard zoom?
The last few weddings I have shot has seen me use the 50 1.8g as my main lens, with the 18-105 helping out at the wide end. The main camera was the D5100 with the D90 as backup.
My train of thought is this: the 50 on the D600, to interchange with the 70-200 f4 and the and 18-105 on the D5100 to interchange with whatever-else may be needed.
What are your opinions and suggestions as to how best to use my current equipment, and also what do you consider other good lenses to get to round out my kit? I am thinking the Tamron 28-75 and the tokina 16-28 on the FX front. As time progresses and funds allow, replace the D5100 with a second D600.
All opinions and suggestions welcome.
