D600 kit from B&H. Did they send a returned camera?

Called B&H this am and described the condition of my kit and asked if it was a returned item. The rep checked and said "he could not confirm that the item was brand new". It may have been a returned one. He apologized and offered to exchange and assured me that I would get a brand new one in exchange. I am a bit apprehensive.  Not sure if I should continue to do business with them, I have bought lenses and other photo equip in the past from them and never had any issues. This is the first time this kind of thing has happened to me.
