I'm an x100 user and like most, believe the camera very good. Mostly I find this forum quite useful but sadly other times not so. All the latest Fuji cameras are at the edge of technology but all I see here is people worrying about "the next model bla bla"

If you own an X-E1 or Pro, you have fabulous camera. Please, lets all just go enjoy, take photos and have some fun

Hi Steve,

Maybe if I were to share my current position, it might help you to understand why some of us are excited and looking forward to the possible rapid introduction of "s" versions of both the X-Pro and X-E platforms.

1st of all, I own a X100 that I have been using for going on to 2 years. I have been able, to accommodate all of the camera's so call quirks to the point that I would not bother selling it to purchase the X100s. So like you I am happy to continue to use my X100 on a daily basis, in fact I seldom go out without it.

My issue is that I currently don't have either the X-Pro1 or the X-E1 and I continue to use my Nikon D2x and all of the many lenses that I have acquired for it over the past 35 years or more. I love my D2x, but since getting my X100, I am finding that it's high ISO noise performance leaves a lot to be desired, okay I will be honest - it sucks. Additionally I am getting to the point where I really don't want to haul around a large back pack full of camera gear. And finally, it seems to me that Nikon is going all in on FX and the Nikon 1, neither of which excite me.

So I am getting to the point where I want to invest in a new smaller and lighter camera system. I have been so impressed with the image quality from my X100 that I have pretty much decided that I will invest in the Fujifilm X system of bodies and lenses. Like a lot of photographers I don't frequently upgrade my camera - as far as DSLRs go, my 1st was the D100 and the last was the D2x and I still have both of them and would not consider selling them.

After owning and using the X100 for as long as I have, I do understand it's limitations, and from reading this forum and others I also understand that both the X-Pro and X-E suffer to a lesser extent the same focusing issues that I have seen with my X100. From what I have read so far the X100s has pretty much eliminated all of the quirks. So the question is, since I buy and hold for long periods of time, do I buy now and work around the focus issues for the next 5 to 10 years, or do I hold off until the Xtrans II and EXR II chips are put into the interchangeable lens bodies?

For me and others that are waiting to make the switch, it is only logical to wait and see how well the X100s lives up to the initial hype and then look to when the 2nd gen chips will be offered in the X-Pro and X-E platforms. I really think that there are a large number of customers like myself that are on the fence waiting to make the move. If the X100s is as good as what Fujifilm is saying it is, then it will be to their, and my, best interests to update the other two bodies as quickly as possible.

I guess time will tell...
