I cannot explain why your results are different to that of most users feedback.

I find no difference using outer AF points, and a significant D800 improvement using central AF points. My understanding is most using both cameras find the D800 is superior.

Have you personally used the D3s and D800 in low tungsten light to compare?

The D3s focus acquisition is far more assured and consistent.
