Does anybody else think B&W photography is overused these days?

Sometimes B&W can create a very different, interesting, image. For example, these pair.

I like both versions of this shot. They have very different moods, and I really can't say which I like best. (I've shown them to many people and the voting is pretty even.)

But I agree, simply converting a bunch of shots to B&W is pointless. And I think that it should always be done with Post Processing and not with throwing away data before saving the original image on the camera.
