Update on D800 left focus issue ... not good ....

Sorry to be negative but neither your Siemens star or your globe appear to be a first class autofocus subjects using phasic detect autofocus according to page 100 of your D800 instructions.

In particular when testing an outer autofocus point you need good detail in the vertical direction which you're siemens start subject lacks.

Perhaps the significant question is how good does your camera perform with a first class autofocus subject?
