Is Olympus Viewfinder VF-2 compatible with the E-PM2?

I have recently purchased an E-PM2 which I am very happy with.

I am considering adding a viewfinder to it. The choice seems to be between the Olympus VF-2 and VF-3. I know where I can purchase a mint second hand VF-2 for the same price as a new VF-3. I have two questions:

1. Is the VF-2 definitely compatible with the E-PM2?

2. If it the VF-2 is compatible with the E-PM2 which of the two viewfinders should I buy?
