Pany 100-400 not Just for Wildlife

I picked up the Pany 100-400 used from Adorama in the hope of something better then my Oly 40-150 for wildlife. So far, I'm not convinced the lens is worth it because the long end doesn't seem that great to me. This is my second go around with this lens, I was hoping the copy I tried several months ago was just a dud.
Although I have my concerns at the long end, I was pleasently surprised today at how it rendered these candid portraits at it's shorter focal lengths. Although, I probably gould have done this with my 40-150 as well...

And one bird shot as well. Not too bad for ISO 2000 with no NR. But not that sharp either.
