Ok take a look at this, I shot a wedding 2 weeks ago, this what typically happens ( actually it is not the worst case shown here ) I shot like about 6 or 7 frames of these two guys from exact same spot carefully framing and holding still and all of them were out of focus, ( this one came out the best out of 7 shots ) center focus point was used. The camera just only focuses on higher contrast subject and in this case the christmas tree was there so it ignored the guys and no matter how carefully i tried to do it....anyways this is not acceptable.

Never experienced something like it.. !

in that case I would think I nudged the af point selector with my nose and changed the focus points

which can happen sometimes i have had those things in the past

have you looked at it in NX2 and selected "show focus point" ?

Also in thatn case never and i say never focus on that black suit... which is where the center point is

right now.... do  the focussing in af-s mode and focus on the right face and recompose...

but dont move in and out... most problems we see with these open lenses is that the person moves after the mirror goes up slightly in or out....
