Wow, avoid Dell like the plague!! There Tech support system is so broke.

Well, it seems like my problems with Dell support still are not over.
After finally getting the OS software from them to reload my new XPS 8500 I got a following up call from them and they said the workorder would be closed.
But now I keep getting emails from them telling me to return parts and stating that the return information and waybill was in the package they sent. Now all I got from them were the CDs with the OS and drivers. There was one piece of paper in the package that was simply a bill of lading. No return waybill and no instructions that the CDs needed to be returned.
So I have no clue what they want back. And after about an hour with the idiot (yes I do think using this word is justified) tech support I am no closer to finding out what they are talking about. All that happened is that I got passed around several times with long periods of being on hold between waiting to talk to the next tech support idiot. The various reference numbers provided by Dell seem to mean nothing to their own tech people. And then they had to nerve to try and make me pay for a software warranty. Like I'm going to give Dell another penny after experiencing how totally inept their tech support is.
Anyway, in the past I have defended Dell computers but all I can say now is stay away. I thought I was saving myself trouble by buying the Dell vs bulding my own but that has proven so false.
Oh and don't tell the tech support idiot that you are unhappy with their service because he will tranfer you to "another department" where you will just stay on continual hold. No BS over 25 minutes just letting the phone sit there on hold after telling the tech how poorly their tech support system has performed.
